FORESTRY AND ARBORICULTURE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
TRAINING
Tamarack tree management and training aims to provide an innovative,
perspective and professional service to all clients. Building on more
than 17 years of instructional techniques and 10 years in the
arboricultural industry, we aim our sights high for all candidates who
attend one of our courses. We offer a full range of nationally
recognised training courses to meet the needs of those working or
seeking to work within the forestry or arboricultural industry.
In all our courses, safety of the candidate and public is our highest
priority. Therefore we operate a strict one to four instructor to
candidate ratio. One to one instruction is also available and is proving
quite popular.
Our mission statement is simple "Train hard, work easy".
To complement our course delivery we have excellent training facilities
including workshop, classroom, brew cabin, TV and video facility and a
range of training sites. We also offer transport to any other training
area from our base at Wyresdale free of charge. We also have the
flexibility to carry out training and assessment nationally.
ASSESSMENT
Not only can Tamarack provide a comprehensive training package, we can
also offer you NPTC assessment if you require. All you have to do is
book on a Tamarack course and we will do the rest. Also available is the
LANTRA awards ITA chainsaw course for the occasional user.
Mike Rushton - Principle Trainer/Assessor
-
Royal Forestry Society Certificate in Arboriculture
-
National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) Assessor
-
Lantra Registered Instructor
-
Lifting Operations and Lift Equipment Regulations (LOLER) Inspector
After leaving the armed forces in 1990, Mike fell into the Arboriculture
Industry by accident. After attending Myerscough College for further
theoretical and practical training, Mike worked for various companies
large and small. Firstly as an operator, then foreman and finally
manager. He decided to go self-employed in 2000, tackling three main
business streams within the arboricultural industry, contracting,
training and assessing. Over the years of self-employment, these
business streams are still in place and have developed into a solid
business. Mike will be furthering his arboricultural career in the
future, both theoretically and practically to move his chosen profession
forward. Mike believes that education and training not only for
operatives in the industry, but the general public is paramount to
change the mind set for safer tree work and more care for trees.
